Have you tried to complete your Advance Directive? Have you started and stopped working on it a few times? Have you thought, "I really need to get that done"? In 2022- do any of us really need another mundane task? Nope!! So let’s do this with our intention rooted in pleasure and joy. When we can remain centered and soft, even some of our most difficult conversations can bring such immense joy and relief.

An advance directive for healthcare, also known as living will, personal directive, advance directive, medical directive, or advance decision, is a legal document in which a person specifies what actions should be taken for their health if they are no longer able to make decisions for themselves because of illness or incapacity. The durable power of attorney for health care is the person designated to carry out those instructions when a person is unable to speak for themselves.

This can be... a lot. Filling out the necessary paperwork can mean really engaging our mortality, and for some it could be the first time. The heaviness of that experience keeps many folks from finishing the essential task of getting their wishes in writing. In a one-of-a-kind session, Lashanna Williams from A Sacred Passing will show us that advance care planning doesn’t have to come from sitting in death, but rather in engaging our joy and creativity. She will help us identify the things we could be thinking about, the topics we need to take to our loved ones, and give us some guidance on creative ways we can work through the process, especially with an eye to the collaborative.

“How can I do it differently?” Well, you can start by joining us for this new conversation, adventurous small group conversations and learn some ways to move forward in your planning!
