Cultural Competency: Shampooing, Conditioning & Detangling Black Hair
Knowledge of shampooing, conditioning, and detangling the hair of black patients and decedents are vital basic skills that every end of life, health and death care professional should be equipped with.
This course is designed to accomplish three goals:
- educating end of life, health and death care professionals about the techniques for properly cleansing, conditioning and detangling black hair in a way that culturally honors the patient or deceased;
- while properly caring for and honoring all hair types, textures and cultural factors;
- and maintains the integrity of the patient or deceased hair with minimal shedding, breakage in efforts to create the best possible memory picture for families and loved ones.
