Twas the month of all Hallows and nothing to do 
when all of a sudden your invite came through
What’s this, a party to learn about urns
Caskets and funerals and places that burns
Your body to ashes and composting too
And Aquamation, to name just a few
Why isn’t that something, it sounds like a hoot
A party with favors and raffles to boot
Why not, I thought, it might be fun
When all else is said and done
To know where my bones will be
On my child’s mantel or out to sea
They say people are dying to get into the AFTER PARTY

Join us at Screwdriver Bar at 2320 1st Ave in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle for a celebration of People's Memorial Association, The Co-op Funeral Home, and our colleagues in the local progressive deathcare movement. Learn about the death-positive innovations our industry has seen thanks to the board, staff, volunteers, partners, and members of People's Memorial, empowering families with choice. This important fundraising event supports PMA's mission of funeral education and advocacy in Washington State. 

Our overall fundraising goal for this event is $12,000! Will you help us reach it?  

The evening's program includes a keynote from Lisa Pahl, creator of The Death Deck, a set of cards featuring games that make talking about death easy (and fun). Her speech is guaranteed to be as hilariously reverent as her game! Filling out the night amid music from local players will be raffles rife with amazing local experiences (a visit to the aquarium, anyone? Perhaps a local film festival?) and a silent auction for a green burial casket graciously donated by Passages, a leader in eco-friendly burial. 

Dearly pre-departed, please don your fancy frocks, eerie ensembles, and gloomiest garb and save the date for Thursday October 8th from 6-9 pm! This event is 21+. 

Screwdriver Bar's primary venue space and bathroom are ADA-compliant (please let us know if you need elevator accommodation.) Multiple bus routes stop within two blocks, on 2nd and 3rd Avenues. Street parking in the area as well as an adjacent paid lot.
