Indigent Cremation Fund
People's Memorial Association sells unwanted cemetery plots located in Washington State that have been donated by PMA members and others to support its Indigent Cremation Fund.
The fund only covers the costs of cremation (removal of the body from place of death, filing of the death certificate, the cremation, the cremation tray, and urn). The family is expected to pay a portion of the cremation costs. The fund is not inexhaustible and maybe closed due to lack of plot sales.
Additional costs not covered by the fund are certified death certificates and, if death occurred in King County, the Medical Examiner tax.
Other restrictions apply, so please read the guidelines and then contact our office for the application.
PMA welcomes your donation of no-longer-needed plots for the Indigent Cremation Fund, and can furnish donors tax-deductible receipts for the cash value of the plots. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
