2007 Survey of Funeral Home Costs in Washington State

The PMA Education Fund Conducted a survey of prices for 170 Funeral Homes in westeran and central Washington.  This is by far the largest price survey we have ever completed and the results show a huge range of prices. 

The study shows that the average cost of Direct Cremation of all of the surveyed funeral homes in the region is $1,492. The range is from $425 to $2,844 for what is essentially a commodity-the same no matter where you purchase it.  The average price of Direct Burial is $2,201, with prices ranging from $1,067 to $4,310.  A Complete Funeral service with emblaming viewing, services and casket averages $3,946 and is low as $1,595 and as high as $7,255.
